Introducing a Revolutionary Approach to Therapy: Healing at Your Fingertips

Welcome to a New Era of Therapy

I recognise that traditional therapy methods need to evolve to meet the changing needs of individuals. I am excited to announce my innovative approach to psychological therapy – a WhatsApp-based model designed for efficiency, convenience, and effectiveness. This groundbreaking method offers therapy that saves time, money, and energy, perfect for those on the go or those who prefer not to engage in traditional face-to-face sessions.

What Makes My Method Unique?

My therapy model harnesses the power of WhatsApp, one of the world's most popular messaging apps. It’s therapy that comes to you, fitting seamlessly into your daily routine, ensuring privacy, and allowing you to engage in therapy in a way that feels most comfortable and convenient for you.

The Three-Stage Process

1. Stage 1: Onboarding

   - I begin by collecting essential personal history – your name, location, marital status, etc. This helps me understand your background and tailor the therapy to your specific needs.

   - Next, I help you to pinpoint the problem you are seeking to address and define the desired outcomes from the therapy.  This is an essential aspect of the therapy and if often a reiterative process.

   - An initial self-assessment helps calibrate your starting point, giving us a baseline for your pre-therapy status.

Stage 1 can also be undertaken through text, face to face or by telephone, whichever is easier for you

2. Stage 2: The Therapeutic Process

   - Every second day, over about a 2 week period you will receive a thought-provoking question from me, designed to encourage deep reflection.

   - After pondering the question, throughout the day, you send your response, which I will then analyse.

   - Based on your reply, the following day I’ll provide insights and possibly additional tasks to overcome specific issues, educational insights, or my professional psychological perspective. This process ensures that you receive a holistic therapeutic experience.

One question every other day, with a day of reflective introspection in between, or at a pace to suit you.

3. Stage 3: Final Report

   - At the end of your therapy cycle, I provide a detailed report outlining your journey and the overall client experience. This report helps you visualise your progress and the insights gained through the therapy.

   - The client completes a second self-assessment which provides clear calibration of progress towards the desired state.

Like stage 1, this can be undertaken through text, face to face or telephone.

How Does Therapy Work?

Healing seems to come from one or a mixture of five sources:

1. Reflective Insight: Delving deeper into your thoughts, going beyond initial reactions or surface-level feelings.

2. Reframing: Altering your perspective on events, places, or people.

3. Educational Insights: Understanding how the mind and brain function.

4. Practical Tasks: Engaging in activities like journaling, meditation, or specific exercises.

5. My Insight and Encouragement: Receiving my support and guidance as your therapist.

The cornerstone of my therapy method is reflective thinking, promoting a deeper understanding of yourself and fostering meaningful change.

Rethinking Traditional Therapy

I’ve learned that traditional therapy can be both intense and inefficient. Within an hour, a therapist and client might exchange up to 9,000 words, with around 30 questions posed. This volume of information can be overwhelming. My WhatsApp-based therapy, however, simplifies this by focusing on a single, reflective question each day, allowing for clearer, more focused therapeutic engagement.

Privacy and Data Security

I take your privacy and data security seriously. Sensitive personal details, such as your full name and location, are not shared with the AI used in analysing responses. Maintaining the confidentiality of your information is my utmost priority.

AI’s Supportive Role

I am assisted by AI in analysing your responses, but you will directly interact only with me. This ensures that the human element of therapy remains at the forefront, supported by technology for enhanced understanding and insights.

Q: How long does each therapy cycle last?

A: The duration of a therapy cycle can vary depending on individual needs, but typically lasts for 15-20 days.  Experience suggests clients get the greatest benefit from 8-10 questions.

Q: Is this therapy model suitable for all types of mental health concerns?

A: While my model is versatile, it may not be suitable for all types of mental health concerns. I recommend consulting with me to determine the best approach for your specific needs.

Q: How is privacy maintained in WhatsApp-based therapy?

A: All communication is encrypted, and personal details such as full names and locations are not shared with the AI or stored unnecessarily. Client confidentiality is my utmost priority.

Q: I don’t have WhatsApp.

A: I’m happy to discuss the use of alternative platforms including email, messenger etc.
