If you arrived here asking one of these, you are in the right place:
- AI training for managers in the UK
- AI training for leaders in Warwickshire
- AI training for a small business in Stratford-upon-Avon
- which AI course is best for managers
- does the UK government offer free AI training
Which AI course is best for leaders and managers?
I won’t name courses, mine included. Here is what I would look for in any of them:
- It teaches behaviour, not buttons. Menus change often. What the machine does when it reaches the edge of what it knows changes far less, and that is what your people will run into.
- It shows the failures, live. If nobody in the room watches an AI get something confidently wrong, the course has taught confidence, not judgement.
- It deals with sign-off. Who reads it, who owns it, who answers for it when it’s wrong.
- It uses your own work. Your documents, your decisions, the tools you already have.
- The trainer says where their knowledge stops.
A course that promises transformation is selling something. A good one leaves your people more careful and less frightened at the same time.
What will my team be able to do afterwards?
I can tell you what we will have practised. I can’t promise what anyone does with it on Monday, and nobody honestly can.
We practise three things. Spotting the five ways AI covers when it doesn’t know: smoothing, hallucination, affectation, drift and sycophancy (why AI makes things up). Checking an answer before anyone relies on it: asking twice, opening the source, noticing the reply that agrees too well. And deciding who signs: which work can go out on one person’s read, which needs a second reader, and which should never have been handed to the machine at all.
The aim is a team that uses AI more, not less, and catches it more often. Whether that holds depends on what happens after the session, so we talk about that too.
Do we need any technical knowledge?
None. If your people can type a question, they know enough.
What goes wrong with AI at work is rarely technical. Someone pastes in what they shouldn’t. Someone forwards a confident answer without opening the source. Someone signs off a draft because it read well. Those are behaviours, and behaviour is my trade: twenty years of coaching and psychotherapy, the last ten in the therapy room. Before the therapy room I spent thirty years in business, from an engineering apprenticeship to large computer systems on four continents to the boardroom, so I can hold my own with the technical people in the room too.
The session is built for the people who carry the consequence, not the people who build the tools.
Is it in person or online — and where?
In person, mostly. I am based in Oxhill, in South Warwickshire, near Stratford-upon-Avon, and I come to you: your office, your meeting room, your away day. Across Warwickshire, the rest of the UK and further afield. Up to 30 people in a session.
Online works for a smaller group, or a team spread across several sites. The live exercises carry over well. The conversation over coffee doesn’t, and that is often where the real question comes out.
How much does AI training cost?
Fee on request. It depends on the size of the group, where we meet and how much shaping the session needs to fit your work, so I would rather hear what you need first. Tell me about your team in a 20-minute chat and I’ll come back with a fee. If I think I’m not the right person for what you need, I’ll tell you that on the same call.
Does the UK government offer free AI training for adults?
Yes. In January 2026 the government announced free, short online courses in practical AI skills for work, open to every adult in the UK, under its AI Skills Boost programme (the government’s announcement). The courses are written by technology companies and checked against a government benchmark. Schemes like this change, so check on the government’s own website that it is still running, rather than in a provider’s summary.
If your people can get a free course on how to use the tools, take it. It isn’t competing with this. A tools course teaches what AI can do. I teach what it does when it doesn’t know, and what your people do in response. The two sit well together, and a team that has done the free course first gets more from the session.
Is it accredited?
No. This training is not accredited by any awarding body, and I hold no AI accreditation.
What stands behind it is on the record. The letters after my name on the About page are two qualifications: a university postgraduate certificate in emotional education (2008), and an advanced therapeutic diploma (2018), which was accredited by a national professional body. Then twenty years of coaching and psychotherapy, the last ten in the therapy room. And 14 million words with AI (counted September 2026), kept as a record, from which came the books and the research papers on this site. Two of those papers are publicly deposited. You can read the working rather than take my word for it.
What does a session look like?
One tailored two-hour session, shaped to your room. The three sessions to choose from, and how each one runs, are on the AI page.
Other questions people ask
Can you train a whole organisation?
Up to 30 people in a session. For more, we run more than one. I’d start with the people who sign things off, because what they check is what everyone else learns to check.
Is this the same as your coaching?
No. Training is a group, in a room, for the people who carry the consequence. Coaching is one to one, on your own work. Both are on the AI page, and some leaders do both.
Do you cover AI that talks to our customers?
Yes, as part of the sign-off question. If that is your main worry, start with When your AI says the wrong thing to a customer.
Do you build AI systems for us as well?
Not as an engineer. I do agentic design: an AI chief of staff and a room for it to work in, set up inside your own AI account. No engineering, no hosting. How agentic design works.
Paul Roebuck · Psychotherapist, author and AI coach. AI education, training, coaching and agentic design, from Oxhill in South Warwickshire.
